Thriving plants in the summer

Here is a garden our team worked on in Kirkby in Furness, South lakeland, Cumbria.

We started back in October 2014 ready for the spring the following year. To look its best this garden needed heavy garden maintenance and care, but being on a steep slope the clients were ready for a redesign.

Our in-house garden designer set to work on the levels to make the steep slope more gradual by creating 4 terraces. The terraces are made of planting, lawns and a sandstone paved patio. The golden gravel pathway leading up to the house expands around an ornamental bird bath that had significance to the client and were keen for us to incorporate it as a main garden feature.

Towards the top of the garden we built a red brick wall with steps to tie in with the architecture of the house while the lower stone walls are built with local slate bought from Burlington Quarry. The patio outside the house is built with sandstone paving.

The client beautifully planted much of the garden and we asked for recent photos to see how the garden has matured. Please see for yourself below
