Maximising your garden in the winter

Happy New Year Everyone, finally some beautiful weather in amongst the rain.

Here at Chris Rabone Landscapes we have been lucky enough to escape the effects of the floods and our staff have been at work as usual - the waterproofs have been earning their keep.

This morning we have been greeted by the glorious sunshine and some spectacular views of the snowy hills. Our landscaping team are working in the Duddon valley, deep in the heart of the lake district, cumbria as well as in Ulverston and are enjoying a respite in the weather. Our gardening team meanwhile are currently pruning at one of our stunning gardens over looking lake windermere in ambleside. This garden is an explosion of colour in the winter months as our design team employ the use of the red winter dogwoods, as well as the grand birches to keep the garden looking stunning year round.

During the winter we have learned to deal with all types of weather and we keep the works progressing using marquees and space heaters in order to keep materials workable during extreme temperatures. Of course all our staff are kitted out with robust, effective waterproofs to keep out the rain.

Landscaping and gardening in winter is an effective way to maximise the use of your gardens in the summer, so it is in fact it is a very busy season for us.
