THE GLORY OF MAY

One of our woodland gardens near Ambleside in Cumbria is flourishing with vibrant hot colours of Rhododendrons. We planted over 70 species in total last year sourced from specialist nursery growers and they are looking fabulous in full bloom. We also companion planted them with Himalayan poppies, the stunning blue stands out with the sun shining behind them. Other shades of spring blue with the Brunnera Jack Frost, Blue bells and purple blue of the Ajuga reptans are dotted throughout the garden aligning the stepping stone pathways.

Along the banks of the natural stone stream and waterfall, the hosts and ferns are looking lush with their new fresh green growth.

Our work continues there with feature paving to the walled garden including local Cumbrian black and Westmorland green slate.
